Hi! 

I am a wife to an amazing husband, a mom to three little boys and an artist with a love of design. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, I graduated with a degree in Studio Art from Auburn University. My husband, Chris, and I met at Auburn, got married two years later, and found our way back to Chris’s hometown, Jacksonville, Florida. After moving to Jacksonville, we partnered with some great people to start a home building company. I feel like the luckiest mama to be able to stay home with my kids and have the profession of my choice!

My artwork is a metaphor for a day of life. Each painting starts with a watered down acrylic base, which corresponds to the day itself. As I sketch the image into the fluid, the watercolor crayon interacts with the the medium creating a dichotomy of mess and structure. Just like in life, we constantly react to many predictable and unpredictable situations that occur. My reactions depend on mood, timing and the end goal. Some of my paintings are more playful, full of colorful mark-making; where others are peaceful, muted in color with more detail. Surprising accent colors make an appearance at times, where other paintings are finished off with silky oil pastel highlights. Each day is beautiful and unique, and each painting portrays it’s own complete journey. My main goal for each painting is to fill the space and viewer with joy.
